The Business Challenge
The client wanted to process the incoming data at a faster pace to improve its services. The client was getting its data from two sources (Omniture and Digital Envoy) where the processing time was around four days for a week’s worth of data.

We migrated the client’s database from SAS to the Hadoop platform to process data from the two sources quickly.
The Business and Technology Approach

- Transferred the data files from landing to the Hadoop cluster
- Loaded data files to HDFS
- Converted all SQL scripts to Hive Scripts
- Loaded the processed data to a staging location on the Hadoop platform
